“Take Canada Back/Take Back Canada” to when/what/where, etc., exactly?!?

ICYMI Erin O’Toole is the newly-minted leader of the Conservative Party of Canada.

Erin O’Toole ran on a leadership campaign platform that courted nationalists and populists, AKA hate/fear-mongering, racist, xenophobic, anti-Semitic, etc. pieces of garbage.

Erin O’Toole’s leadership campaign slogan?

“Take Canada Back/Take Back Canada”.

“Take Canada Back/Take Back Canada” is the Conservative Party of Canada equivalent of MAGA…

There is no reason to think that Erin O’Toole won’t try to use “Take Canada Back/Take Back Canada” as some sort of rallying cry in the coming weeks/months/years, and/or if/when an election is triggered.

To be perfectly plain: “Take Canada Back/Take Back Canada” is nothing good and “Take Canada Back/Take Back Canada” is certainly nothing great.

“Take Canada Back/Take Back Canada” is hate, fear, racism, xenophobia, anti-Semitism, white nationalism, anti-progressive, anti-climate change/science, anti-choice, anti-LGBTQ, anti-Universal Healthcare, pro-Proud Boy/Yellow Vest/Rebel Media/Soldiers of Odin, etc., etc., etc.

PS I’m pretty sure the only people who should be keen to “Take Canada Back/Take Back Canada” are the Indigenous/Aboriginals of this particular portion of the North American continent…
